We are looking for an acting manager join the Enforcement team within the Enforcement and Resolution Directorate here at Te Pūtea Matua. The Enforcement team is small and busy with a broad remit. It is responsible for investigating and taking enforcement action where non-compliance with the legislation that the Reserve Bank is responsible for enforcing is identified.
Te tūranga - The role This role is a key, senior position within the Department and the Financial Stability Group, primarily responsible for leading the high functioning and collaborative Enforcement team. Partnering and working with senior internal and external stakeholders (both in NZ and offshore), will be part and parcel of this role. The Enforcement Manager leads enforcement investigations and undertakes enforcement action on behalf of the RBNZ and administers and operates the RBNZs whistleblowing function. They are also responsible for the strategic oversight and continued development and improvement of enforcement policies and the RBNZ enforcement framework. Ō pūkenga - About you We are looking for a motivated enforcement leader with proven influencing and relationship management skills who can confidently navigate the RBNZ enforcement landscape, which includes new and existing prudential legislation and New Zealands AML/CFT legislation. You will need to demonstrate extensive experience in law, finance, financial banking and/or public policy in relation to the financial services sector as well as a legal qualification, and appropriate skills and experience. Youll bring:

  • A strong capability for managing a high performing enforcement team.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead enforcement investigations from an end-to-end perspective, and ideally have experience developing, implementing and the continuously improving enforcement frameworks and policies.
  • Strong relationship management skills and experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
